Christians, Tithes and Prosperity - Speaking Truth

Welcome!

My name is R. Renee. I, along with author Cynthia Harper, wrote the book The Tithing Hoax: Exposing the Lies, Misinterpretations & False Teachings about Tithing.

Why did we write a book on the topic of tithing?

We wanted to bring the truth about tithing to the body of Christ. We also wanted to provide a peace of mind to Christians who are questioning whether they should tithe or not.

Many Christians are struggling financially and paying tithes out of fear and the threat of condemnation. There are many Christians who believe they must tithe to receive God's blessings. Others believe God will curse them if they don't tithe. But this is not true.

Cynthia and I conducted a thorough study of the Bible as it relates to tithing and we discovered that God does not want, need or command Christians to pay tithes.

Why did we choose the title The Tithing Hoax?

There are some preachers who know tithing is not a Christian commandment. But they believe if they stop preaching tithing their congregations will stop giving money. So they resort to using deception, gimmicks, trickery, falsehoods, manipulation and even fear tactics in order to keep their congregations tithing.

A Final Word

Cynthia and I both grew up in the church. We both have a strong Christian foundation. We believe in empowering people, and one of the best ways to do that is to speak the truth. The truth is the light. The truth is love. Out of our love for people we seek only to spread the light of truth on the topic of tithing through our book and this website.
